Pharmacological effect
Target: PTH1 receptor (osteoblasts, osteocytes, kidneys, intestines)
Key feature: Intermittent administration (once daily) is completely opposite to the effect of persistently high PTH
1. Prioritize stimulating osteoblasts, promoting new bone formation (anabolic drugs), enhancing trabecular bone density, improving bone microstructure, and increasing bone strength; Osteoclastic activity will also increase slightly, but bone formation is greater than bone resorption, and net bone value increases. Long-term and persistent high PTH (primary hyperparathyroidism) is mainly characterized by bone resorption and destruction.
2. Kidneys: Enhance calcium reabsorption in the renal tubules and promote phosphorus excretion in urine.
3. Intestines: Promote the production of active vitamin D and enhance calcium absorption in the intestines.
